We offer fused glass projects. You start by choosing the base size of the piece. Glass based are available in clear, black, white, and speciality glass. We offer square, round, and oblong shapes. Once you decide on the piece, we will show you how to cut and nip the colorful glass. We offer safety goggles and plenty of instruction. You will lay out your design using strips, chips, and frit. Once you are happy with the design you will glue all the parts in place. You will leave your piece with us and we will fire it in the kiln.
The first firing is called “fusing” and that will melt all of your glass together into one solid piece, like a coaster or frame. You can choose to have a second firing called “slumping” that will shape your piece into a mold to make a bowl, plate or vase. The price of the glass base includes the first firing, slumping is an additional charge.
